Frequently Asked Questions

Can I select a darker color of siding than what is offered?

All siding color selections have been approved by an ACC for the overall appeal to the neighborhood. However, there may be a possibility that the color of your choosing might be approved. For details and approval, speak with your sales agent.

Why can’t I have the same color combination as my neighbor?

We like to have exterior color diversity in neighborhoods to keep from a monotonous look. To do this, most color scheme selections go through an architectural review committee to approve color selections.

Why do I only get 12 interior paint selections to choose from?

The paint selections have been made to offer buyers a wide range of options, while also taking into consideration coverage and durability. If you would like to select another color, it must be approved and may be subject to a minimum customization fee of $500. For more details, speak with your sales agent.

Can I add more windows to the home?

Of course. Your sales agent will be able to discuss the various options, locations and costs with you for the particular home floor plan of interest.

When do I get to select my lighting fixtures?

The standard lighting fixtures and finish is the Malibu package in brushed nickel. At the Buyer’s Choice meeting you will be able to choose to either stay with the standard lighting package or select from upgrade packages.

When will I hear from the Great Floors designer/representative to set up my appointment?

You can look forward to hearing from our Great Floors representative to set up a time to discuss your home’s hard surfaces selection meeting after your house starts framing.

Can I go to Great Floors before my hard surfaces selection meeting?

Absolutely! Be sure to let them know that you are building a home with us and schedule an appointment with the representative, so that they will be able to better assist you.

I don’t want carpet on my stairs, are there other options?

The only other option would be hardwood (no laminate) for the stairs. This would be an upgrade option and an additional cost to you, the buyer.

Are there other options for countertops besides laminate?

Most certainly, granite is a beautiful option to upgrade with. The cost varies per plan. The Great Floors representative can go over all available selections, including other options such as quartz, at the time of your selection meeting.

What are my options for appliances and when do I select them?

All Viking homes come standard with a Whirlpool stainless steel gas range, dishwasher and spacesaving microwave. At the Buyer’s Choice meeting you have the option to select from one of the various appliance packages offered.

What are my options for bathroom fixtures and when do I get to select them?

Moen is our supplier for all bathroom faucets. You have two choices within the standard options styles: Brantford or Eva fixtures in a chrome finish. At the Buyer’s Choice meeting you will select from either one of the standard fixtures or select from our optional upgrade fixtures/finishes. Check out the product details on the Design Center tab or visit our Design Center at our Spokane Valley headquarters.

What if I want different towel bars?

Once your selection is made for the bathroom fixtures and finishes at the Buyer’s Choice meeting, the towel bars, toilet paper holders, shower curtain rod(s), mirror trim and shower door trim will all match accordingly.

The plan I am interested in has a tub/shower combination in the master bathroom. Can I just have a shower instead?

Absolutely. There is an upgrade option to a fiberglass shower with glass door in place of the tub/shower combination. For more details, see your sales agent.

What if I want a larger bathtub?

Depending on the floor plan there are options for either a larger bathtub/shower or there’s a garden bathtub that you can upgrade to. Your sales agent will be able to provide you with all the details.

Can I check into the process and take pictures as my home is being built?

Please do! We want to ensure this is an exciting, memorable, and safe process for you. You can certainly come and check out your home while it’s being built, we just ask that you have the listing agent escort you at all times for your safety.
